Privacy vinyl fences
This style is traditional and will offer the most privacy for your property. Typically, solid white privacy fences will have Tongue & Groove Boards and Posts. The tongue and groove pickets will ensure no gaps are present in your fence, which is ideal for keeping animals or small children inside your yard.
Residential vinyl fences
For residential use, vinyl fences are great for many different projects. They are perfect for front yard fences - for example a simple white picket fence. For your side yard or backyard, typically taller fences, there are vinyl fence styles and designs for every occasion. Add some lattice on top for extra privacy.

Vinyl is an extruded polymer and can be customized with colors and textures.
Colored vinyl fence
Due to the fact that it’s an extruded polymer, which means the plastic-based materials and other components are melted together in a high volume process, colors can be added during the production process. That means it will not get discolored or fade from weathering or time the way a wooden fence can.
Textured vinyl fence
Another benefit of vinyl fences is that they can have the aesthetic features of other fence materials while offering you durability and strength. For example, textures can be applied to the surface of vinyl components to mimic wood grain textures. Another way to achieve this look is to use composite wood and vinyl.

The difference between a privacy fence and the semi-privacy style is that the semi-privacy vinyl fence is built with small gaps between the pickets. You’ll have some visibility through the fence.
Vinyl lattice fence
If you’re looking to add something extra to your privacy fence, a lattice can be a great option. Lattice adds a foot or two to the top of your existing fence. It is a framework of crossed vinyl strips that can come in designs including diagonal - criss-crossed, or piano-key - vertical strips with gaps between them.
Vinyl picket fence
If you desire the traditional look of the white picket fence, then a vinyl picket style is perfect for you. This style has pickets with dog-ear or pointed tops spaced with gaps between them, as well as posts with caps and top and bottom rails. You can get it in different colors as well!
Closed picket vinyl fence
A closed picket vinyl fence is similar to a picket fence. There are still gaps between each vinyl picket as well as rails. However, for a closed picket fence, the horizontal rail will be at the very tops of the pickets. The bottom rail will likewise be at the very bottom of the pickets.

A vinyl fence is made up of a few different parts and it’s helpful to know what they are.
Vinyl fence panels
Vinyl fence panels are the sections of fence between the fence posts. These are wide, solid panels as opposed to pickets. For your fence project, you can choose panels in a variety of widths, but the most common are eight feet wide or six feet wide panels.
Vinyl fence rails
Rails are the horizontal support for a vinyl fence and typically 1.75” x 5.5” in thickness. To prevent warping and add extra stability the bottom rail will include a metal stiffener. The standard assembly contains 2 rails, at the top and bottom of the frame.
Vinyl fence pickets
Pickets are the parts of the fence that stand vertically to hold the vinyl fence up. Vinyl fence pickets come in 3” or 6” widths. Privacy vinyl fence pickets are typically tongue and groove boards. There are decorative tops to choose from, like dog ear, gothic, pointed, or flat tops.
Vinyl fence post
Posts are the main support structures for the fence. Typically posts will be installed every 8 feet. Standard vinyl fence posts are 5” x 5”. Vinyl fence posts are set in the ground 2’ - 4’ deep with cement. You can add vinyl post caps as a design element.
